Monday, January 26, 2015, Native America Calling broadcasts the 2015 State of Indian Nations Address, presented by the National Congress of American Indians. National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) President Brian Cladoosby will deliver the address from the Knight Studios in Washington DC. This annual address highlights goals for Native America and priorities for tribal leaders. The address will be followed by analysis and commentary from journalists and experts.

According to the most recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 20 percent of Native Americans and Alaska Natives who are infected with HIV didn’t know they have the disease. 2014 Elections
Native America Calling (NAC) and National Native News (NNN) covered the campaigns and key issues in the 2014 elections across Indian Country.
NAC brought together grassroots organizers, voters and community members to talk about voting rights, access to the polls and key issues for Native voters this year. In July, we discussed the impact of the 2013 Supreme Court decision Shelby County v. Holder, which threw out key parts of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. In August, we learned about voter registration campaigns and in September the program followed up with coverage of efforts to turn out the Native Vote in 2014. In September, the program also highlighted tribal elections across the countyr.
NNN featured the work of four reporting fellows to covered elections issues in Alaska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Northeastern states. NNN newscasts featured reporting from these fellows and other reporters who documented the impact of the elections across Indian Country.

This one-hour, live, call-in program links public radio stations, the Internet and listeners together into a thought-provoking national conversation about issues specific to Native communities. Each program engages noted guests and experts with callers throughout the United States.
National Native News
A weekday, five-minute radio newscast, anchored by Antonia Gonzales (Navajo). NNN is produced in Albuquerque, NM. It is a headline radio news service dedicated to Native American issues and events that compiles spot news reports from around the country. NNN is the first Native-produced, Native radio newscast that is distributed nationally. National Native News provides the nation with Native news and information, linking all listeners, whether Alaskan Yupik or Boston-Irish.
American Indian Living
American Indian Living is a one-hour weekly talk show focusing on health issues in Indian country. The live talk show was developed for radio by the Native Education and Health Initiative, a non-profit organization providing comprehensive services for the health needs of American Indians through education. The show covers a broad range of health issues, viewed in a holistic way in keeping with traditional Native perspectives. Acting as show host is David DeRose M.D., president of the Oklahoma-based CompassHealth, Inc.
Word With a Champ
Is a five-minute weekly radio show hosted by professional sports announcer Randy Taylor (Cherokee). The program features up-close and personal interviews with professional and amateur athletes from a variety of events – from rodeo to motor sports.
