MISSION STATEMENT:
KEYA Public Radio strives to provide information, entertainment, and cultural programming to the Turtle Mountain Community. Guiding this service, KEYA will: Express, share with, and educate the community about the cultures within the listening area (Native American, as well as other traditions); Serve as a balanced source of information on local and national news and issues; and Emphasize programming from, by, and about the Turtle Mountain area.
HISTORY:
In July, 1974 the Federal Communications Commission gave authorization to the Belcourt School District to operate a non-commercial, educational broadcast station in Belcourt. KEYA officially went on the air in October 1975. It is the second oldest Indian owned and operated public radio station in the nation.
